The Pipa Viana earrings bring together several gorgeous textures in a colorful fusion. With an oval Raffia base, the pair boasts hand-embroidered organza and silk decorative motives. The fabric and the raffia combination create a beautiful volume that is chic and elegant. These statement earrings are sure to turn heads.
Hailing from Madrid, each piece from the Verbena Madrid collection is handmade using a near-extinct artisanal craft from Spain called Raffia Embroidery. The natural fiber is extracted from the leaves of the Raffia palm tree. The fibers need a period to get dry that will take up to four weeks. After that, comes the coloring process. At Verbena Madrid, they only use natural dyes. Once the dye settles, each piece is traditionally embroidered and decorated. The embroidery process might take between 12 to 15 hours until completion.
These raffia earrings are 100% sustainable as they use natural fibers that will biodegrade easily. Not only that, but they also are part of the social responsibility movement. The designers behind Verbena Madrid wanted to perpetuate some almost lost traditional skills and techniques. Thanks to Verbena Madrid the artisans are able to keep their jobs and have an income doing their craft. Verbena Madrid is part of the Slow Fashion movement as every piece is handmade and they produce only a limited amount of each design to avoid additional waste.
These exclusive creations are sure to rock your look and make you proud of the story behind.
