They are made out of stainless steel. They have no lead and are totally safe for drinking. To keep them in pristine condition, you should not wash them in the dishwasher. That will ruin the paint. Other than that, if you handwash them they will last you a lifetime.

When you take them out of our protective packaging, you might feel the smell of paint. Do not worry as it will go away with normal usage. If you want to speed the process up, submerge the cups in water with vinegar or baking soda for 2-3 minutes. To protect them from scratching always add a paper napkin between the cups if you are stacking them.
