Quazi Design

Quazi Design was born in 2010 out of a partnership between a designer and a local magazine distributor. The idea was to create the much needed employment in Eswatini, Southern Africa.

What started as a trial in design for social impact, has become a small thriving business with a solid community of local women artisans. Quazi recycles paper and combines it with sustainable design, ethical production, transparency, and craftsmanship. All their products are handmade by women.

They focus on developing new and innovative techniques using only waste paper and want to change the perception of recycled materials. By transforming these waste magazines and newspapers into original designs, they are creating jobs, raising awareness, and helping to make a better world.

Each product is done by hand, with basic tools and the help of the sun’s rays.  As much as possible the materials are locally sourced and environmentally friendly. Quazi is a founding member of SWIFT, Swaziland Fair Trade.
